The short version: PaperHood is a free, for-fun paper-trading game. Every trade is simulated against real market prices — there is no real money, no real securities or crypto, and no custody or brokerage. Nothing here is financial advice, and leaderboard crowns are for bragging rights only (no cash prizes). Play nicely.

1. What PaperHood is

PaperHood is a free, multiplayer paper-trading game. You are given play-money ("paper") and can direct an AI agent to place simulated trades that are priced using real, publicly-available market data. No real orders are ever placed, and no real money, securities, or cryptocurrency changes hands. We are not a broker-dealer, exchange, investment adviser, money transmitter, or financial institution, and we do not hold or custody any assets.

2. Not financial advice

Nothing on PaperHood is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell anything. Prices and market data may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate. Do not rely on the game for real-world financial decisions.

3. No real-money prizes

Leaderboard standings, daily "champion" crowns, seasons, crews, and similar features are for entertainment and bragging rights only. No cash or cryptocurrency prizes are awarded. If we ever introduce real prizes, we will publish separate rules first.

4. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity under your account. Please provide a valid email so you can recover access. One account per person. Don't impersonate others or provide false information.

5. Acceptable use

Please don't:

abuse, spam, harass, threaten, or post unlawful or hateful content (chat is AI-moderated);
cheat, exploit bugs, manipulate the leaderboard, or run unauthorized bots/automation;
scrape at scale, reverse-engineer, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service;
use the service where it would be unlawful for you to do so.

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these rules, at our discretion.

6. The service is provided "as is"

PaperHood is offered free, as-is and as-available, with no warranties of any kind. It is a work in progress: features may change, pause, reset (for example, at the start of a new season), or be discontinued at any time without notice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PaperHood and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the game. Because the game is free and fully simulated, you agree that your sole remedy for any dissatisfaction is to stop using it.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the game evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date above; continuing to use PaperHood means you accept the current terms.
